Quality Assured Full Day Nursery
Birch Farm Children's Nursery open in 1991 and has developed into an 100 place
nursery with additional facilities such as our on site swimming pool and play
barn.
In January 2009 we became a quality assured nursery after completing a full
programme of modules and inspections with the Suffolk County Council QA team.
In July 2011 we had a finger print door entrance system fitted we felt that
would enhance the security of the nursery .
The nursery has 4 sections to accommodate children's ages and stages of development
and children progress through our sections at their own individual rate (some
limitations as laid down by our registration terms and conditions)
-
Catkins our baby section offers care for children from birth to 18-24
mths. With their own garden area, 2 bright spacious rooms and their own cot room
this section allows your baby the chance to develop their basic skills. Children
are cared for on a 1:3 ratio and we have space for 18 children per day.
-
Pippins our toddler section has it's own dining area, messy play rooms
and large main play room with their own outdoor area and sleep room
children are able to build on their skills to develop independence, social
skills and all by having fun in a supported and relaxed environment. With 26
spaces and ratios of 1:3 for under 2 years and 1:4 for 2-3 years children are
able to move freely between rooms with staff support at all times.
-
Acorns - Our pre-school section has 3 sections - Yellow room is a large
spacious room with a variety of opportunities and is ideal for those just
starting pre-school or progressing from our toddler section. Red and Blue rooms
are
smaller room with more table top activities this is ideally suited to older
children who are getting ready to progress to 'big' school.
Interests and stages of development will also help to determine your child’s
group. This enables us to plan differentiated activities to ensure the best
learning opportunities for your child.
Acorns are able to provide a choice of either term time or full year care and we
are able to take children receiving the Early Education Grant Funding in this
section.

Set in 60 acres of rural Suffolk Countryside, Birch Farm is a family run
business with its own woodland, swimming pool and play barn.
Birch Farm is able
to offer a unique daycare experience for your child /children. Ample private
parking ensures parents/ carers can spend as much time settling their child as
they need to.
We aim to provide a safe and stimulating environment with qualified and very
experienced staff, including 4 team members who have their Early
Years Professional Status Qualification and a further 3 working towards this.
Early Years Professional Status is a qualification that recognizes
their professionalism and is equivalent to Qualified Teacher Status, the
government are aiming to have 1 EYP in every setting by 2015.
All rooms have their own team of staff who are keypersons to
groups of children ensuring they plan for the children's present stage of
development by undertaking
daily observations and using these observations to plan for the present and next
stage of development.
The management team also work alongside the staff on a regular basis providing a
positive role model and support.
Each room within the nursery has its own separate section and we have 2 grassed play areas
and a large tarmac playground.
Children also have access to our indoor/outdoor barn - a converted farm barn
containing a variety of experiences such as a role play area and ample space to
for ride on toys.
The barn ensures children have access to outdoor play regardless of the
weather providing shelter and protection from rain and direct sun as required.
The nursery is able to care for children from 6 weeks to 10 years with our
holiday care being available to run in line with the Hadleigh Pyramid school
dates.
The nursery is open 51 weeks a year 7.30am - 6.30pm with a wide choice of times
to suit the needs of working and non working families.
