Nursery

Birch Farm Children's Nursery opened in 1991 and has since developed into a nursery that can accommodate up to 100 children daily .  We have some additional facilities to also offer, including our on-site swimming pool and play barn.  As a family run  business the nursery offers a friendly atmosphere where you and your family really matter.

As parents and carers you are your child's first and most important educators.  We want to continue the good start that you have already made, therefore, your views and involvement in your child’s time with us are valued.  To maintain regular contact with our families we publish a monthly newsletter and hold termly parent and carers consultation meetings to discuss your child's development and learning experiences.

Birch Farm offers flexible, family-friendly care within three separate zones, one each for our babies, toddlers and preschool children. This allows us to accommodate children's ages and stages of development accordingly, letting children progress through our rooms at their own individual rate (some limitations as laid down by our registration terms and conditions).  We pride ourselves in serving fresh home cooked meals daily on a rotating menu, and supplying both nappies and milk. We are happy to work with you for any special dietary requirements your child may have.  Whilst at nursery, older children can participate in extra-curricular activities, having the opportunity to attend swimming (from 3 years) and ballet lessons (from 2 years) subject to additional costs.

We facilitate a Breakfast and After School Club [Click Here] providing drop-off and collection from our local village school in Hintlesham. During the school holidays we also provide a Holiday Club [Click Here].

Birch Farm is open Monday to Friday for 51 weeks of the year and there are over ninety sessions available with a full day being 7.30am - 6.30pm. We can accommodate rotas, as well as fixed hours with suggested minimum days ,or a combination which can be agreed.  We also allow the option of term time only care for those with term time only contracts.  Do you work shifts?  If so, then we may be able to help.  We will look at your shift pattern and try to fit your childcare around your shifts. This service is already successfully in place for parents within the setting.
We are also happy to offer additional one off sessions and swap sessions subject to availability for those unpredictable life events.
Our prices vary based on the number of hours you use in a day and if you are entitled to 2/3/4 year old funding [Click Here].  We are providing the 30 hours  free childcare.  Please contact us for an up to date price list.

During their time at nursery children take part in daily song sessions.  There is extensive research highlighting how singing can further support language development.  You can find the words for some of the children's favourite that we sing with them [Click Here] for our Song Book.  By regularly reading to your child you can help them to learn to read themselves, develop language skills and widen knowledge.  To support this, we offer a Library Scheme here at Birch Farm where you are welcome to borrow books to share with your child [Click Here] to see our Library.
We are situated in the lovely Suffolk Countryside only ten minutes from Ipswich Town Centre or five minutes from A12/A14 Copdock Interchange, making us ideal for commuting parents as well as those working locally.

In  2016 we fitted a Video door entrance system as we felt that would enhance the security of the nursery  ensuring that staff let parents in without having to leave the room maintaining our staff ratios and safety of the children.
