Stage 1 To 7 Swimming Lessons

Here at Birch Farm our stage 1-7 programme supports children from basic swimming skills to competent swimmers in all 4 strokes. Our teachers are water based until children are ready to be in the water independently.
Birch Farm teachers are all level 2 qualified and if classes have more than 4 children (max 8 children per class) we have an assistant in the water as well.
You may be concerned about your child's safety but all our teachers are either lifeguard or NRASTC trained.
Our Stage 1 -7  classes are available on Monday- Saturday at various times of the day and with our 3 terms a year programme children progress consistently and receive awards at the end of each term.
Each of the seven stages of the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework has a clear set of targets for the pupil to meet so they can get to the next stage.
This part of the Programme not only teaches a child to swim using the four strokes. It also gives them a number of other skills, which when put together, give children the ability to do a range of other water-based sports.

Each of the Learn to Swim Awards 1-7 stages has a list of clear outcomes that need to be completed in order to gain each award. They are designed to reward your child for their development of the essential aquatic skills they need to be confident, competent and safe in the water.
Swim England recommends that children don’t just stop going to lessons once they can swim, increasing their competence in the water helps to make sure they can keep themselves safe.
The Swim England Learn to Swim Framework gives children confidence in their ability to swim. From this comes more enjoyment of swimming, a love for swimming and being in the water and the skills and motivation required to lead a healthy and active lifestyle through regular swimming until and including their adult life.
