Spring Seed Sowing Workshop
Spring Seed Sowing Workshop
Join us here at Birch Farm on Saturday 15th March for a morning of seed sowing and flower chat.
Service Description
Come and join us for a relaxing and informative Seed Sowing Workshop here at our flower farm in Eccles, Salford. We will help start you off on your cut flower journey, sowing a mix of hardy and half hardy annuals seeds. A lovely selection which will provide you with flowers all through Summer. Join our small group and learn with us over a hot drink and homemade cake. We will tour the flower farm and talk you through what we are growing for the 2025 season. Hopefully we may have some early Spring flowers in bloom, and it will be a great opportunity to ask as many questions and to make as many notes as you like. At the end of the session, you can take home your seed trays knowing that you will have beautiful cut and come again flowers which you can cut and arrange in your home. We will supply all the materials, compost, seed trays, and a selection of seeds. You just need to bring yourself and maybe an apron, we will be working either outside if dry, or in our open barn, so please wrap up warm and wear appropriate footwear, the ground maybe a little muddy and is uneven in places, so flat, sturdy shoes are a must! From the 14th February, daylight hours start to exceed 10 hours, having enough daylight is key to starting off your seeds at the right time. We will talk you through the process of caring for your seedlings all the way from sowing to pricking out, potting on and then planting them out after the last frosts. This workshop takes place on Saturday March 15th 11am to 1pm.
